The original little master, who’s class and batting style took cricket at its peak. The legendary Pakistani batsmen Hanif Muhammad died today at the age of 81. Hanif Muhammad Yaqoob was born in 1934 in Junagarh state of combined India and made his test debut playing for Pakistan against India on 16th October 1952.
His last test match was against New Zealand in 1969. His cricket career fascinated generations of cricketers with 17,059 first class and 3,915 international runs at an average of 52.32 and 43.98 respectively.
At the peak of his batting career he scored that time’s highest 337 runs in an innings playing against the best bowling opposition of his time West Indies and many other super innings that can never be reproduced by any sort of class in modern day cricket.
The news of his death left everybody in tears, the fellow cricketers and following cricketers left their feelings on social media.
