These are the major sources of income for an Indian cricketer during the calendar year. Note, it does not include the IPL contracts.

Types of BCCI Central Contract

Grade A Plus – This is the top most category in the hierarchy of BCCI yearly contract, where all those players are included who play all three formats in the blue jersey. 

Players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma,Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja fall under Grade A Plus contract of BCCI where they earn 7 Crore INR every year.

Grade A Contract – All those players who usually represent the Indian cricket team in One or Two formats of the game, come under Grade A contract.

Currently there are 6 Indian cricketers who are part of the BCCI Grade A contract. Ravi Ashwin, Mohammad Siraj, Shubhman Gill, Mohammad Shami, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya earning 5 Crore INR as their yearly salary.

Grade B Contract- There are quite a few players who are known as a single format specialist, such as Suryakumar Yadav who is known for his phenomenal T20I performances.

Also those players, who are in the scheme of things for Indian selectors in the future like Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Therefore, Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Rishab Pant are 5 Indian players who fall under Grade B Yearly contract of BCCI, earning 3 Crore INR as salary.

Grade C Contract – The young and rising talent of India, who have played at least 10 T20I or 3 Test matches or 8 ODI matches for India are eligible for Grade C Contract.

This category includes 15 young talents which are Rinku Singh, Gaikwad, Shardul Thakur, T.Verma, Jitesh Sharma, W.Sundar, R. Patidar, P. Krishna, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, KS. Bharat, Shivam Dube, Ravi Bishnoi, Mukesh Kumar and Sanju Samson.

All these 15 players of Grade C Contract may and may not be the regular part of Indian team in different formats, that’s why their salary is not as high as other, as they only get 1 crore INR every year.

Indian Cricketers Salary In ODI Format

There were many rumours that an Indian cricketer earns in crores by playing a single game for India, But it is completely false information. The salary of Indian cricketers in an ODI match is 6 Lakhs INR who is in the playing 11.

For those who are standby or benched players, they only get 3 lakh INR per ODI match of the Indian Cricket team.

Salary of Indian Cricketers in Test Match

Well, standing 5 days in the hot sun is definitely not an easy task to do on the field, Therefore if any Indian cricketer plays a test match, he earns 15 Lakhs INR as his salary offered by BCCI.

Whereas, on the other hand, players who are not in the playing 11 of a test match, they will end up having 7.5 Lakhs INR in their pockets.

To be eligible to play a test match, A player not only needs the skill to play in this format but also requires good enough fitness levels in order to play 90 overs for 5 days, because of such tough conditions, Indian cricketers earn the most amount of salary while playing test matches.

Indian Cricket Players Salary In T20I

Now coming on to the match fee of an Indian cricket player in the most entertaining format of the cricket T20 International, which often ends within 3 hours of time span, leading it to the least amount of match fee in all three formats of the cricket.

The moment you see an Indian cricketer in T20I, you can be sure that his per match salary is 3 Lakhs INR  and those who are not included in playing 11, takes 1.5 Lakhs INR as their match fee.

Annual Salary Of Indian Cricketers 

Virat KohliThe global Icon of Cricket, King Kohli who plays all three formats of the game and also included in the Grade A Plus Contract of BCCI.

You will be amazed with the fact that Virat Kohli’s salary every year is around 8 Crore INR which includes his central contract fee along with all the bilateral series match fee which he plays in a calendar year.

Rohit Sharma – Current Indian test captain of Indian Cricket and former T20I wc winner, Rohit Sharma is standing equal to the Kohli, as his yearly salary offered by BCCI is 8.2 Crore INR which does not include the IPL and brand endorsements money.

Jasprit Bumrah – The only Indian bowlers whose performance has not declined over the years in all three formats for India. Infact, Jasprit Bumrah’s contribution is quite a huge behind India winning the 2024 T20I world cup.

Currently Jasprit Bumrah is the only Indian bowler who is earning most among all, Bumrah’s yearly salary is 7.8 crore INR which includes the match fees for all three formats and salary offered by BCCI as well.
